Montgomery County has opted not to compete for the FBI's
new headquarters and will support neighboring Prince George's County's
bid to lure the agency to a site by the Greenbelt Metro station, Prince
George's County Executive Rushern Baker told the Washington Business Journal Friday morning.
Private developers in Montgomery could still compete to build the FBI
a new 2.1 million-square-foot headquarters on locations they own, but
Baker said Montgomery did not submit its own response to a request for information the federal government issued in December. The General Services Administration, which is overseeing the search process, said March 6 that it received three dozen responses to that RFI.
