– Yoga for Stroke Patients - An
eight-week class for stroke survivors (Leo and Lysbeth Courtney Conference
Center, 301 Hospital Drive, eighth floor). The cost is $40 and
is due at the time of registration. Session ends on Tuesday, November 19. For

Survivorship: Living With and Beyond Cancer – meets to
discuss information and support for cancer patients and their families (The
Aiello Breast Center, 203 Hospital Drive, Suite B100). For any type of cancer.

¨ Healthy Living: Nutrition and
Exercise - A diabetes educator leads a one-hour class discussion and offers
suggestions on how to make simple nutrition and exercise changes to help
achieve weight loss, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes.
The cost of the class is $25 (cash or check accepted) and reservations are
requested. To register or for more information, call 410-787-4940. This class
will also be offered on Friday, October 11 (9 to 10 a.m.) and Monday, October
28 (2 to 3 p.m.).

from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fair at Arundel Mills Mall- Various
health screenings including blood pressure, glucose and bone density and
educational exhibits on mental health, aging and wound healing will be offered.
All screenings are free and appointments are not needed (located in food court
of Arundel Mills Mall).
Saturday, October 5
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Farmers’ Market sponsored by UM BWMC (Executive
Center-300 Hospital Drive). Seasonal fruits, vegetables, baked goods and
prepared foods will be available. Also held each Saturday throughout the
month of October.

¨ The Stroke Support Group meets to
discuss stroke recovery and prevention in the Dr. Constantine Padussis

- The University of Maryland Center for Weight Management and Wellness offers a
free weight loss education seminar. Registration is required by calling

– UM BWMC podiatrist Dr. Lauren Newnam hosts “Putting Your Best Foot Forward:
Solutions for Common Problems of the Foot and Ankle,” an informative talk that showcases
common problems of the foot and ankle, including symptoms, causes and

Health Support Group for community members and families seeking information on
psychiatric issues. Meetings are held in Room A of the Partial Hospitalization
Program (PHP) located on the second floor of UM BWMC. Reservations are not
