Tower Federal Credit Union Receives Innovation in Wellness Award

Tower Federal Credit Union, the largest federal credit union in Maryland, recently received an Innovation in Wellness Award from the Howard County Health Department, in recognition of Tower’s outstanding “Wealth of Wellness” employee program. The award lauds businesses that offer a specific program or policy that goes above and beyond typical worksite wellness offerings. Three winners are selected by a community panel. Tower was the recipient of the award in the medium business category. As part of Tower’s employee wellness program, the credit union offers free on-site health fairs, flu shots, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, “Lunch & Learn” events, on health-related topics, and more. Tower also received Gold-level certification for the second year in a row in the Howard County Health Department’s 2011 Healthy Workplaces Program. The Healthy Workplaces Program certifies businesses committed to improving employee health and well-being Tower Federal Credit Union serves its members with eleven branches in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard and Prince George’s Counties, five branches at Fort Meade, and online services and Mobile Banking at towerfcu.org.
