This position will provide Consumer Loan Operations support to the consumer loan needs of the Bank by completing the daily necessary work in adherence to Howard Bank’s Loan Policy, Loan Operations Policies & Procedures, while maintaining high efficiency, accuracy and quality service.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review all initial applications of all real estate related transactions, including 1st mortgages, Home Equity Lines of Credit, Home Equity Fixed Loans and other consumer loans
- Prepare and distribute initial and subsequent federal and state disclosures within the established time lines
- Work closely with the Mortgage Loan Originator or Branch to collect all documentation from the applicant(s)
- Verify the applicant(s) income, asset and credit documentation to confirm applicant(s) qualifies for the product.
- Order all vendor documents and review upon receipt
- Ensure that all information in the applications and forms are accurate
- Submit loan file for approval
- Prepares loan file for Closing by confirming all “prior to closing” conditions have been met.
- Working with staff of Loan Operations to prepare and review loan closing documents, if necessary.
- Experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor for no less than 2 years
- A thorough understanding of federal and statement compliance regulations including RESPA, REG Z, HMDA.
- A thorough knowledge of mortgage terminology and basics of real estate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service ethics
- Good computer skills; knowledge of Encompass 360 and Laser Pro helpful but not required.
