Prince George's hospital plan arrives on fast track

Workers could break ground on a replacement for aging Prince George's Hospital Center within 18 months. Almost hard to believe.

Look at the headline. "Incredibly" is one of those words smart journalists avoid, because its literal definition ("impossible to believe") is so hyperbolic. Is it really? In the case of the new hospital, it almost is.

County Executive Rushern Baker said as much on Thursday, when he thought back to his 2010 campaign promise to solve the hospital dilemma. "“Immediately after I won, I thought, ‘Dang, how am I going to do this?’" Baker said.
