Daryl Jones said repealing Anne Arundel’s stormwater fee will be one of his first priorities now that he’s back on the County Council.
It’s a position that puts the Severn Democrat on the opposite side of Pete Smith, who resigned from the council Monday night to give Jones back his seat. Smith voted to override County Executive Laura Neuman’s veto of the controversial fee.
“I don’t think it’s being
applied correctly,” Jones said in brief remarks following his first
council meeting since January 2012.
Since he was appointed to
the council in March 2012, Smith cast dozens of votes on a variety of
county issues, including the stormwater fee.
