Maryland Republicans Draft Plan to Cut Personal Income Taxes

Republicans in Annapolis are drafting a plan which would cut personal income taxes. The politicians would like to "phase-in" a 10% cut in the personal income tax over the next two years.

House republicans say they also plan to introduce a bill which would abolish the so-called "rain tax."

Throughout the recession Democrats and Republicans constantly clashed over how to reduce the deficit. In the end state lawmakers increased the sales tax, alcohol tax, as well as many fees and tolls.
