About TSA Preê
TSA Preê is an expedited
screening program that makes passenger
risk assessments prior to their arrival
at an airport checkpoint. TSA Preê enhances
aviation security and provides a better travel experience. The program has expanded to 100 airports across
the country and millions of passengers have enjoyed the benefits of this program
since its inception.
TSA Preê is a component
of TSA's intelligence-driven, risk-based security approach used to provide the most effective security
in the most efficient way.
Who is Eligible?
Passengers eligible for TSA Preê include the following:
• U.S.
citizens who are frequent
fliers and opt-in via invitation from participating airlines.
• U.S. citizens who are members of existing Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler programs, including Global
Entry,
NEXUS and SENTRI.
• Canadian citizens who are members
of NEXUS.
• U.S.Armed Forces service members with a Common Access Card.
• Passengers 12 and younger
who are traveling with an eligible passenger.
• Passengers
who are selected using existing
Secure Flight system requirements
while traveling on participating airlines.
These eligible
passengers flying both domestically and outbound internationally
from participating airports, as well as passengers with connecting domestic
flights who arrive in the United States on an international flight, may use the TSA Preê lanes when going through
the screening
process.
Although these passengers are eligible for TSA Preê benefits, TSA incorporates random and unpredictable security
measures throughout the airport and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
In the coming months,
TSA will expand TSA Preê by launching
an enrollment and prescreening process that offers U.S. citizens and lawful permanent
residents the ability to apply for expedited
screening benefits for an anticipated fee of $85 dollars which is valid for five years. Those enrolled
inTSA Preê will receive expedited screening
benefits on a more consistent basis.
Screening Benefits
TSA Preê benefits include a faster
and easier travel experience by no longer having
to remove:
• Shoes
• 3-1-1 compliant bag
• Laptop from bag
• Light outerwear/jacket
• Belt
Eligible passengers must use dedicated TSA Preê lanes to receive expedited screening.
How It Works
Participating airlines will print TSA Preê indicators directly
on passenger boarding
