Laurel – November 6, 2013:
Crystal Knight-Lee has been named Director of the Strategic Systems
Management Office (SSMO) for Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
(WSSC). She joined WSSC in 2007 and has led SSMO on an interim basis
since February 2010.
General
Manager/CEO Jerry N. Johnson says, under Knight-Lee’s leadership “the
office has led strategic planning, supported corporate governance for
WSSC's Commissioners, increased transparency and accountability by
reporting organizational progress, and supported the development and
implementation of key strategic initiatives.”
Knight-Lee,
who grew up and lives in the WSSC service area, received her Bachelor
of Science degree in Business from Towson University in 1992. She earned
her graduate degree in Applied Behavioral Science and a Certificate in
Strategic Management from Johns Hopkins University in 2008. She is a
2011 graduate of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators
Executive Leadership Institute and served on the board of the
Association for Strategic Planning.
Knight-Lee’s
background includes management and internal consulting, human resources
and organization development roles. She has served as trusted advisor
to senior executives in the nonprofit, consulting and government sectors
where she has demonstrated a strong collaborative leadership style.
An
active volunteer for WSSC community outreach programs, she has
supported her local Prince George's County and Montgomery County
communities in various leadership and service roles.
