BWMC Healthy Living Class

The University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Baltimore Washington Medical Center is offering classes on healthy living through nutrition and exercise. A diabetes educator will lead a one hour class discussion and offer suggestions on how to make simple nutrition and exercise changes to help achieve weight loss, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and prevent diabetes. Healthy Living: Nutrition and Exercise will be offered on March 7 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., March 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. and March 26 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center located at 300 Hospital Drive, Suite 119.

This class is recommended for anyone interested in learning more about how eating healthier and being more active can affect overall health and wellness. The cost of the class is $25 (cash or check accepted). Reservations are requested (select one date only). Baltimore Washington Medical Center Orthopaedic Surgeon, Amir Moinfar, M.D., will be providing a free lecture titled “Playing it Smart: Preventing Sports Related Injuries” on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. at The Severna Park Community Center, located at 623 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. This informative discussion will include information about common sports related injuries in young athletes including sprains, muscle pulls and broken bones. Coaches and parents are encouraged to attend to learn the latest information to reduce risk, prevent and treat injuries and keep children safe on the playing field.
