“If you focus on obstacles you’re going to run into them. Focus on where you want to go,” said Kirk, a self-proclaimed geek and former IBM-er who grew her technology firm Applied Creative Technologies Inc. into a multimillion-dollar company before selling it in 2005.
With an attitude like that it’s no wonder Kirk, now the executive director of the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship in Columbia, was among the Women Trailblazers in Technology recognized by the The Center Club group Women in Business.
