“This makes us very uncompetitive, and sends a message that Maryland is looking to exact all it can from business,” said Walt Townshend, CEO of the chamber. “This, coupled with rising gas taxes, the millionaires’ tax and other tax proposals … all these things added together are quite destructive.
“We’re competing against other states.”
