La Prima Catering Celebrates 25th Anniversary with a Gathering in the Garden

Recognizes 7 Employees for 25 Years of Service

La Prima Catering will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Thursday, June 28th with a festive outdoor event and recognition of seven employees who have been with the company since its inception. The event will take place by La Prima’s organic garden at the company’s corporate headquarters at 5015 Berwyn Road.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of growth and success,” said La Prima President Dave Evans. “From our beginnings as a small sandwich shop and corporate takeout catering business, we’ve expanded into a company that now includes five regional kitchens, elegant special events catering, a healthful school lunch program and a large corporate catering division.”

“We are also proud to honor seven hardworking, dedicated employees who have been with us since day one,” Evans added.

College Park Mayor Andrew Fellows, clients, friends and employees will attend the catered event, which will also include horseshoes, bocce and other games on the lawn, as well as tours of La Prima’s kitchen and organic garden.

La Prima’s organic garden is just the beginning of the company’s ever-growing commitment to sustainable practices. In addition to using eco-friendly, recyclable materials, La Prima composts more than 1,000 pounds of food waste each week.  Through the new Seeds to Celebrations initiative, in cooperation with Open Book Farm of Myersville, MD, La Prima will cater a grown-to-order, farm-to-table wedding reception in late September. You can read more about the program and follow the process on La Prima’s blog.

Media are welcome to attend this event. Please RSVP to Karen Bate at pr@larpmacatering.com or 703-402-2672.

La Prima Catering kitchens operate in five locations throughout the Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia metro regions, providing unsurpassed service that is fast and flexible. The company’s Simple Elegance division offers a delicious, contemporary menu full of imagination and style for memorable special events such as weddings, corporate galas, religious celebrations and other important occasions. Its “Seeds to Celebration” program provides fresh-from-the-garden, elegant and sustainable events that support local farms and protect the environment. The company’s “H Generation” division provides a nutritious school lunch program for area schools.
