Working in cooperation with the lead entity, the
Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and more than 60 other partnering
organizations, Chamber President Walt Townshend participated in the
recent Maryland Competitiveness Summit, held at the JHU Applied Physic
Lab’s Kossiakoff Conference Center in Laurel, MD.
Following a nearly hour-long presentation by renowned New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, author of The World is Flat and That Used to Be Us, the
scores of business and elected leaders assembled to discuss a framework
and objectives for making Maryland more competitive in the regional and
global marketplace.
